In 2010, she began to work with children placed in therapeutic foster care as a Foster Care Case Manager. Her wealth of knowledge in the mental health field led her to become a Recruiter/Licensing Specialist/Trainer. She has trained and licensed a plethora of foster parents throughout the state of North Carolina.

In 2016, because of her love for children, Chéz signed up to be a substitute teacher for Clover District School and later in Gaston County School. Her fond spirit and expertise with working with children with mental disorders made her a highly sought after substitute filling in often as a long term substitute. Chéz had a unique way to teach life lessons to students and she was always urging them to become their best self. During the pandemic the school system didn’t have a need for substitutes and Chéz made her debut as a candidate for School Board. Unfortunately, she didn't succeed; however, that didn't stop her from serving children as she currently works as an exceptional children teacher at Movement School.

Chéz is proud to have planted seeds within so many successful students in Gaston County and beyond.
